About the Role

We are looking for a part time  creative writer who is passionate about storytelling and is comfortable working independently and in a team setting.To be successful in this role, you should be a highly creative person with a big imagination who is able to write for various age groups (specifically ages 6-11) and for diverse viewers. Your specific responsibilities include:

• Brainstorming and writing story concepts

• Conducting research to understand the context that you are writing about

• Developing and presenting a story pitch (synopsis, main characters, arc of story, etc.)

Minimum Requirements:

• Evidence of writing experience (links to published work would be advantageous).

• Critical reading and thinking skills.

• Resilience and the ability to accept constructive feedback

• Experience living or working in Africa

• Experience writing for film

• Experience writing fantasy pieces or african realism concepts

• Ability to work in a fast paced dynamic/ virtual environment

• Knowledge of screenwriting software 

This position is part time (no more than 20 hours per week)  and is ONLY opened to undergraduate and graduate students pursuing a degree in literature, creative writing, etc.

Compensation: 

Students will receive a yearly stipend and an opportunity to join the team full-time after one year.
