About the Role
We are looking for a part time creative writer who is passionate about storytelling and is comfortable working independently and in a team setting.To be successful in this role, you should be a highly creative person with a big imagination who is able to write for various age groups (specifically ages 6-11) and for diverse viewers. Your specific responsibilities include:
Brainstorming and writing story concepts
Conducting research to understand the context that you are writing about
Developing and presenting a story pitch (synopsis, main characters, arc of story, etc.)
Minimum Requirements:
Evidence of writing experience (links to published work would be advantageous).
Critical reading and thinking skills.
Resilience and the ability to accept constructive feedback
Experience living or working in Africa
Experience writing for film
Experience writing fantasy pieces or african realism concepts
Ability to work in a fast paced dynamic/ virtual environment
Knowledge of screenwriting software
This position is part time (no more than 20 hours per week) and is ONLY opened to undergraduate and graduate students pursuing a degree in literature, creative writing, etc.
Compensation:
Students will receive a yearly stipend and an opportunity to join the team full-time after one year.
